GLAAS' new publication - Strong systems and sound investments: Evidence on and key insights into accelerating progress on sanitation, drinking-water and hygiene

The UN-Water Global Analysis and Assessment of Sanitation and Drinking-Water (GLAAS) 2022 report, entitled Strong systems and sound investments: Evidence on and key insights into accelerating progress on sanitation, drinking-water and hygiene, is now available on the  GLAAS data portal  and  WHO website . It compiles new data on drinking-water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) from 121 countries and territories and 23 external support agencies (ESAs). The report highlights opportunities to accelerate progress in key WASH areas that positively affect the quality and sustainability of WASH services and delivery, pandemic preparedness and resilience to climate change. The report also has new data WASH and gender, sanitation workers, hand hygiene and WASH human resources as well as the most recent WASH financial data.

GLAAS provides policy- and decision-makers at all levels with reliable, easily accessible, comprehensive data on WASH systems, including on governance, monitoring, human resources and finance. GLAAS monitors elements of WASH systems that are required to sustain and extend WASH services and systems to all, and especially to the most vulnerable population groups. All data from the GLAAS 2021/2022 cycle is available on the  GLAAS data portal .
