Introducing Dunster House: A new partner organisation of SuSanA
We would like to welcome Dunster House from the UK as a new SuSanA partner organisation!
The following text is taken directly from their application form and was written by the partner organisation themselves.
Description:
Dunster House Ltd is the UK’s leading manufacturer in garden and outdoor lifestyle products which specialises in timber and sustainable solutions. Established in 1994 we have experienced strong growth in the company and now have 4 sites in the UK with manufacturing sites across Europe. We have an expanding company with a strong culture of social responsibility and we believe that business has a role in tackling issues such as sanitation, which is why we have been developing over many years a range of environmentally friendly products and humanitarian products. The company has a strong history of trading both in the UK and Internationally.
Activities in Sustainable Sanitation:
We have a selection of composting toilets in our range, which make best use of sustainable or recycled materials. We aim to help solve the sanitation crisis by providing quality sanitation solutions to NGOs, Governments and those involved with implementing improved sanitation facilities. Our eco friendly solutions can offer safe and clean sanitation to people, whilst protecting their dignity and privacy. By making safe use of waste our products can help to reduce and prevent contamination to the environment and water sources. Our solutions are developed so that they tackle the sanitation crisis as well as offering ways to deal with the waste to maximise the effective use of waste products.
Expectations in the Partnership:
By partnering with SuSanA we hope to improve our knowledge of how the sanitation issues around the world is being tackled, so that we can develop solutions that better fit the needs of NGOs, Governments and those involved in implementing sanitation projects.
Contribution to SuSanA:
As a manufacturer we are able to develop solutions to fit requirements, we have a range of existing solutions and a developing knowledge of the ways in which the sanitation crisis is being tackled. Using our knowledge of manufacturing we hope we can contribute to the development products that meet all of SuSanA’s criteria for a sanitation solution.
