Introducing Sisternet: a current partner organisation of SuSanA
This is an introduction to one of our current partners.
The following text is taken directly from their application form and was written by the partner organisation themselves.
Description:
Sisternet is a network of women that was created in 2010 by 10 women living in Stockholm, Sweden and 1 living in Kenya. We are working with school girls in the informal settlements of Nairobi Kenya. We provide menstrual cups as an entry point to discussing reproductive rights and girls rights.
Activities in Sustainable Sanitation:
We distribute menstrual cups to school girls as an alternative to sanitary pads.
Expectations in the Partnership:
Sharing knowledge, networking and capacity trainings on sustainable sanitation.
Contribution to SuSanA:
Share my knowledge on the usage of menstrual cups as a sustainable way of managing our menstruation.
Partner since: February 2012
