Re: Introducing WéCo from France: A new partner organisation of SuSanA

Dear Cécile,
thanks for your interest in WéCo, I'll try to resume the most important information about our product :
We are working on the concept of public toilet of the future. Unlike most projects in this domain, WECO should not focus on the use in developing countries or natural areas, but sees itself as an industrial actor with an ecological background. Our product is a kind of small building including several toilets for men an women. Thoseare not different at first view from a conventional flush toilet. The invisible technical part beyond the public are will be separating solid and liquid substances within an internal water circuit and recycles urine into a high phosphorus and nitrate-containing fertilizers with reduced volume. What exactly happens with the faeces, is not clear yet, probably drying and energy recovery. Therefore, the whole installation requires no sanitary infrastructure, it is water- and energy-autonomous. The exterior apperance is characterized a modern design usin recycled and recyclabe materials. The installations are designed for urban centers and high-income users in Europe and Asia.

We are working with French designers, French and German industrial producers a renowned research institute. For instance we are in the phase of realization of a prototype, which should be completed in 2016.

Once we are able to offer a modeling, we will present these and other details on this Restroom in the forum.

Best Regards form Saint Etienne,
Jörg

Re: Introducing WéCo from France: A new partner organisation of SuSanA

Welcome to Wéco,

Could you explain what makes your toilets sustainable ?

WéCo wants to design and create a toilet with the latest technology but most importantly innovate in order to create a product which takes care of the environment.

Could you tell us more about your innovation ? What is the "product" ? and how does it take care of the environment ?

Thank you

Cécile
