Kickoff the dialogue on Menstrual health
We, Real Relief (
www.realreliefway.com/
) are collaborating with Global Goals World Cup (
ggwcup.com/
), UNYA Denmark (
unya.dk/
) , and partners in 26 countries across the globe, to kick off a transnational dialogue on menstrual health to mark the International Menstrual Hygiene Day on the 28th of May, 2021.
This day encourages everybody to break the silence and tackle the stigmas and taboos that are often associated with a girls’ period. We are encouraging a transnational dialogue throughout the month of May. Each day, from the 1st to the 28th of May, will be dedicated to a different country, as their biggest challenges related to menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is communicated and brought to attention on an official Facebook campaign site.
The difficulties facing girls and women, in relation to menstrual hygiene, are numerous and unacceptable. The topic of MHM continues to be a taboo subjected to shame and stigma. The lack of access to information, education, and products to manage one’s period with dignity and pride are essential.
With this campaign, we share a common goal of putting menstrual health and hygiene on the agenda. We will do so with reference to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDGs). As we kick off the dialogue, we aim to improve girls and women’s rights and opportunities for quality education, gender equality, and safely managed sanitation (SDG 4, 5 and 6).
Ultimately, girls and women are faced with barriers excluding them from parts of society every day, and we hereby ask for your help to break down these barriers for good.
We will produce video content within which we address our local challenges, and we hope you will consider taking part in the process.
Please find the official campaign page here: www.facebook.com/KickOffTheDialogue and let me know what else is required from my side.
