I would like to hear more on the successful use of "homemade" i.e. non-commercial menstrual management tools, such as how women use folded or vaginally inserted cloths (as opposed to manufactured washable pads) or other freely available materials. Also about cultures where menstruation is not hidden. These presentations seem still very skewed towards justifying and targeting the marketing of products. Ultimately, creating a dependency on manufactured products can construct social norms that further constrain and isolate women, especially when they can't afford to buy the accepted products (as has been well- documented in the UK).
