Re: Request to help train children with intellectual disabilities in Ghana
We are excited to tell you a bit more about Hopeworks Ghana and an exciting new opportunity we have been given.
Hopeworks Ghana is a non-profit organization that is committed to enhancing the lives of disadvantaged youth through charity, health, disability, skills training and job placement in deprived communities in rural Ghana. We hold a membership status with CSO on SDGs National Platform (working on goals 1, 3 and 8 ), National Council for Voluntary Organizations UK (NCVO-UK), Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) and on the database of World Association of NGOs (WANGO). We are recognized by the Department of Social Welfare as a National NGO with Registration no. D.S.W./7623.
Since 2015, we have impacted many lives in most communities in Ghana, supporting the social and basic needs of more than 2,500 disadvantaged children/families in deprived communities in rural areas.
For example, just this year, we adopted Obom-Sowada, a community regarded as the most deprived communities in the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana in order to effect change in the lives of the residents by providing them with some really basic amenities. A sod cutting ceremony was organized for the construction of 2 toilet facilities in order to discourage and prevent the practice of open defecation due to the lack of public toilet facilities in the existence of the community. The project is expected to commence next year.
In October this year, Hopeworks Ghana in partnership with Gateway North East-UK also adopted Castle Road Special School (Accra Psychiatric Hospital Special School) located in Adabraka, Accra providing the children with outing uniforms, toiletries, food items, sanitary pads and bubbles as part of the SEND Project, our disability project for deprived special schools in Ghana.
Just recently, the GlobalGiving Foundation selected Hopeworks Ghana to participate in its Accelerator, a fundraising opportunity for nonprofit organizations around the world.
In order to succeed, we must raise $5,000 from 40 donors. If we meet this threshold, we will be permanently featured on GlobalGiving’s website, where we have the potential to benefit from corporate relationships, exposure to a new donor network, and access to dozens of online fundraising tools.
Please help us reach the threshold of $5,000 from 40 donors! Be one of the first people to make a donation at (www.globalgiving.org/projects/help-train...ties-in-ghana/#34309)! You can also donate through:
1. Bank Transfer: Republic Bank Ghana | Ridge Branch | A/c No: 0044972051017 | SWIFT Code: HFCAGHAC
2. Mobile Money A/c No's. 055 5004346 | 0506 211000
Your donation will help train over 75 children with intellectual disabilities through the provision of tables and chairs, computer and printer and improve the teaching and learning of their environments.
We’re also going to need your help spreading the word! Please share this opportunity with your friends and family!
Thank you!
Best regards,
Patrick Akuffo

Hello,
Hopeworks Ghana would like to reach out to you for our first public ask for support to provide toilet facilities for the people of Swada in Obom in the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra, a village without a single toilet facility and considered as the most deprived amongst the villages in the Ga South Municipality in Greater Accra.
Your support would contribute to discouraging the practice of open defecation, improve access to sanitation which is a critical step towards reducing the impact of diseases and making open defecation unattractive and helping create physical environments that enhance safety and dignity in Obom-Swada.
