UNICEF/WHO/WaterAid Steps towards safely managed sanitation webinar series: Guided clinics for practical progress

The journey toward safely managed sanitation (SMS) requires not only strong policies but also practical, scalable solutions. To support this effort, WHO, WaterAid, and UNICEF are launching a new webinar series —Steps to Safely Managed Sanitation: Guided Clinics for Practical Progress. This series will provide hands-on guidance, real-world case studies and interactive discussions to help governments, development partners and practitioners accelerate progress toward universal sanitation goals.Building on the outcomes of the Global Summit to Accelerate Progress Towards SMS (held in June 2024 in Nepal), this six-part webinar series will explore key aspects of sanitation governance, financing, service delivery, data systems, capacity building and climate resilience. Each 60-minute session is designed to simplify complex challenges, highlight solutions and foster peer learning among participants from government agencies, UN organizations, NGOs, utilities and the private sector. The webinar format includes expert presentations, country case studies, and interactive Q&A sessions, offering actionable insights and opportunities for direct engagement with sector leaders. Sessions will be held twice on the same day (at 9:00 AM CET and 4:00 PM CET) to accommodate global time zones. French and Spanish interpretation will be available, and recordings will be posted on YouTube for broader access.
