CDD Society in Bangalore, India, is inviting applications for the position of senior project engineer for a new project on strengthening operation and maintenance sector for decentralized sanitation infrastructure (project grant awarded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation).

Project:
Strengthening the Operation & Maintenance Sector for Servicing Decentralized
Urban Sanitation Infrastructure in Karnataka, India

Project Duration:
December 2013 to November 2015

Location: Bangalore. Requires frequent travel to other cities of Karnataka

Reporting to: Project Manager

Responsible for:
Under the supervision and direction of the Project Manager, the Senior Project
Engineer is responsible for coordinating the project technical activities. This
includes assessing specific need for O&M for various decentralized sanitation
infrastructure and developing O&M service packages -including preparation of
technical manual. He/She shall supervise the work of other project engineers/
field engineers/technical assistants

Compensation offer:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary would not be a
constraint for the right candidate and would be above the industry average

Background:
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded above tilted project grant to a
German NGO called BORDA. BORDA in turn have selected CDD Society for
implementation of the project. The project aims to support improved (enabling
environment) O&M services for decentralised urban sanitation infrastructure in
one city of the State of Karnataka, India

Qualifications:
(1) Bachelor degree with Engineering degree (civil, mechanical, electrical and
environment ) with at least 7 years work experience At least 5 years of project
management experience, preferably in water and sanitation sector (2) Prior
experience of managing water and sanitation projects or working with an INGO
would be an added advantage (3) Excellent interpersonal, communication,
public speaking, and strategic planning skills required;
