Job Title
International Team Leader for GIZ project in Tanzania: “Improving water supply and sanitation services in under-privileged, low income urban areas in Tanzania”
Job Description
Manage team of consultants and set up work processes and procedures, organise and distribute the work among the team members and supervise the national experts. Support and technical assistance to the Ministry department in charge of Water, and other partner organisations through the GIZ SDWSP team. Coordinate with other stakeholders, liaise closely with the GIZ SDWSP manager in charge and ensure full integration into and harmonisation of the consultancy with the overall GIZ TC Programme. Regular Reporting
Technical lead and input in decentralised sanitation, concept development and development of instruments / for on-site / decentralised sanitation services, Quality assurance and technical guidance during preparation, planning, implementation and evaluation of demonstration projects; Technical lead in document the lessons / results of the demonstration projects and knowledge management
Starting date approx. July 2016, input approx.. 27 months within 30 months planned duration
Location: Tanzania – mainly Dar es Salaam with regular visits in Shinyanga, Dodoma and Korogwe
Job Requirements
Education: M.Sc or B.Sc Water and sanitation engineer, business administration and or environmental engineer by training.
Skills
At least 10 years of experience in the field of expertise
At least 5 years working experience in development projects, preferably in Sub-Sahara Africa
working experience within governmental institutional environments will be an asset
Very good management, communication and writing skills
Conversant with GIZ’s development philosophy and processes, including Capacity WORKS
Good intercultural and social competencies, sensible with regards to the prevailing situation in the country
very good language skills in English,
knowledge of German and Kiswahili would be an asset
