Looking for practicum oportunities for 2nd year MPH students from Emory University

I am now a faculty member at Emory University School of Public Health working with a great group of professors and very motivated Masters level students. Each year, global WASH focused Masters in Public Health students from Emory University apply the research skills and knowledge they have gained during their first year of course work to real world settings through the Global Field Experiences (GFE) program. Many of our students are passionate about water, sanitation, hygiene, and health and are keen to partner with global public health and development organizations. Many times, GFE projects have led to greater collaboration between Emory and the partner organization. We would like to know if you have any such collaborative projects or opportunities for our students for the summer of 2016.

Some details of the GFE program:

- Projects topics can be applied (developing a manual) or research related (qualitative or quantitative)
- Students and faculty engage with the partner organization to develop the research questions and project objectives
- Students are available typically from mid May – August 2016
- The student provides funding for his or her lodging and meals although any additional funding towards this cost is appreciated
- The Emory GFE program provides some limited funding for qualifying students—typically airfare to the research site as well as evacuation insurance
- The partner organization provides in-kind contribution, which may include supervisor support, field transport, and enumerators
- Following field placement, students write-up final deliverables for the partner

If you have any potential WASH-related opportunities in mind, I would be grateful if you could please fill out the brief GFE Opportunity Form and e-mail it to Dr. Joanne McGriff (This email address is being protected from spambots. Regards,

Eddy Perez
