About the role

Oxfam GB’s ambition is to create a significant portfolio of work on ‘Water’ that is aligned to the Women; Work; Water programme portfolio. We aim to connect our humanitarian and long term development WASH work ensuring Oxfam strengthens its position as a leader in the sector on ‘Water’ across humanitarian and long term development.

The Water and Sanitation Governance Advisor will provide strategic leadership to Oxfam’s long-term work on Water and Sanitation governance specifically focusing on supporting the transition of Oxfam’s Humanitarian WASH to longer term development WASH Governance. In addition, the role will support Oxfam’s work on Water Governance for resilient economic development.

The post holder will explore partnerships and alliances with Government authorities, civil society, academic institutions and the private sector to promote affordable and sustainable Water and Sanitation in support of resilient economic development and public health goals.

About you

You will have proven experience of innovating and leading the development of strategic approach to Water and Sanitation management and governance and significant experience of either working in developing countries or providing advisory support to country teams. You will understand the emerging trends and challenges in WASH, including water for domestic and agriculture or other productive uses and potential solutions. You will be able to demonstrate experience of integrating gender justice and climate change adaptation into WASH programmes and policy. A strong communicator and excellent team player you will enjoy working and collaborating with others.
