Consultancy 3 month, UNICEF Zambia ODF strategy

UNICEF Zambia is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancy;

Open Defecation Free (ODF) Zambia National Consultant, for three (3) months to be based in Lusaka. The Consultant will provide technical support to facilitate the stakeholder development of an Open Defecation Free Zambia Strategy for the Sector. The Consultant will be working under the technical supervision of UNICEF and shall work closely with the Ministry of Local Government and Housing (MoLGH) and keep the Ministry briefed at regular intervals, he or she will be required to:

1. Facilitate stakeholder consultation to determine and agree the main components of an ODF Zambia strategy.
2. Based on stakeholder inputs coordinate drafting of the ODF Zambia strategy including budget requirements;
3. Facilitate stakeholder consultation of draft ODF Zambia (including budget) and agreement of final version and;
4. Finalise ODF strategy based on stakeholder inputs for final Government approval.

The following background and experience are required: Advanced University degree preferably in Social Sciences or related technical field with working experience in WASH sector with good communication, analytical and facilitation skills; Minimum 5 years relevant working experience at a professional level, in programme design and implementation in the sanitation sector; Excellent communication (written and verbal) and facilitation skills in English and Knowledge of local languages desirable; Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of computers: presentation, word processing, spread sheets, graphics, internet, etc. is a must; Experience in CLTS approach; Ability to engage and dialogue with persons from different levels including government officials, donors and NGOs and possess facilitation skills to ensure stakeholder participation in development of strategy.
