Re: New! Why we need to take Faecal Sludge Management seriously

Peer-to-peer learning and exchanging ideas about the latest developments in the field of faecal sludge management is a crucial step in finding and implementing tangible and sustainable sanitation solutions.

Towards Brown Gold  researchers Prof Sabitri Tripathi, Dr Diogo Da Silva and Prof James Ebdon recently presented their research from the project at the  International Water Association’s 1st ever ‘Non-Sewered Sanitation Conference ’ (IWA NSS) in Johannesburg, South Africa, October 2023. This blogs reflects on their experience and findings, and why we must take Faecal Sludge Management seriously.

IWA Non-Sewered Sanitation Conference 2023 - Johannesburg (15th to 18th October)

Hello SuSanA Community,

The NSS Conference, organized jointly by IWA and WRC in Johannesburg, is just around the corner. This conference is dedicated to expediting the implementation of non-sewered sanitation solutions in the Global South to help achieve the SDG sanitation targets.

Unfortunately, the SuSanA secretariat won't be able to attend in person. However, we are well aware that many of you will be present and actively participating in this exceptional event.. In order for SuSanA to support its members and partners in promoting their activities and reporting on key happenings, we kindly request information on who will be present at the conference and the sessions and side-events you or your organization will be contributing to.

If you are planning to be in Johannesburg, please add your details to the list available   here   and watch out for further updates!

Feel free to use this thread to share your flyers and information related to your sessions and side-events.

All the best

Alexandra Dubois on behalf of the SuSanA Secretariat
