Announcement: SSP (Sanitation Safety Planning) Workshop, 27 April 2016 - Palawan, Philippines

Hello All,
I wanted to draw your attention to the Sanitation Safety Planning Workshop on 27th of April, 13:30-17:00; as part of the Global Water Safety Conference (www.iwa-network.org/events/global-water-safety-conference) being organised by IWA in collaboration with PWWA and WHO.

About the half-day workshop:

Sanitation Safety Planning (SSP) is a step-by-step risk based approach to assist in the implementation of the 2006 WHO Guidelines for Safe Use of Wastewater, Excreta and Greywater. The approach can be applied to all sanitary systems to ensure the system is managed to meet health objectives. Its purpose is to stimulate informed discussions and understanding by managers in the municipal, health, wastewater and/or agriculture sectors on: what SSP is; an overview of how it works, and its benefits. This workshop includes an interactive learning activity from the small town of New town in the imaginary Republic of Sanitola. Participants will experience how SSP works, and so understand more of the what and how of SSP. Numbers will be limited to ensure the effective participation.
