A message from the Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) at Loughborough University, UK

A Happy New Year from WEDC! We send our very best wishes for you and your families for a happy and healthy 2016!

THERE IS ONLY SIX WEEKS TO GO TO SUBMIT YOUR PAPER FOR THE 39TH WEDC INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE! PLEASE REMEMBER TO SUBMIT THROUGH OUR ONLINE SYSTEM NO LATER 15th February 2016.

Earlier submissions are very welcome, and we aim to provide comments within three weeks of paper submission.

The 39th WEDC International Conference 'Ensuring Availability and Sustainable Management of Water and Sanitation for All' will be co-hosted and take place at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana 11-15th July 2016.

Our week long format includes three days of presentation and discussion of peer reviewed papers (Monday to Wednesday), followed by two days of capacity development workshops (Thursday and Friday).
We encourage you to consult the guidance for authors which can be found here:

Presenting a paper at the WEDC conference, ensures that your work is available to the sector beyond the conference, our open access online paper repository experiences more than 18,000 downloads each month!
Side events are convened during 1.5 hour early evening sessions. We invite international agencies, projects or programmes to engage with the conference audience and present/consult on sector issues using varied formats. Please submit your proposal using the template from our site here:

We also invite proposals for capacity development workshops of between a half day and full day duration. Please see the guidance and application form on our website and submit these by 15th February:
