Dear Sumeet,
Thanks for sharing. Your post brings to fore the important opportunities to synergise management of multiple streams of waste which are almost poorly managed in many developing countries.

I hope the event went well. In case it was recorded, will be possible for you to post a link for the benefit of those who could not attend the webinar.  And/Or if the speakers are willing, please share the presentations (if any) or a link here. A bullet point list of key lessons/points of discussion would also be helpful.

Thanks
paresh

Description
High quality organic solid waste is required to process dried faecal sludge into value-added products (e.g. co-compost, briquettes, biogas). One of the common challenges is that the solid waste that comes to a treatment site is unsegregated where organic and non-organic solid waste (plastics) is still mixed together, which affects operational efficiency and therefore financial viability of a treatment site. At the same time, plastics are common non-organics found at waste management sites that hold economic values to support the financial viability of a treatment site.

FINISH Mondial is increasingly focusing on integration with solid waste management, as the programme moves towards a circular economy model. For the purpose of knowledge sharing, the Faecal Sludge Management-Circular Economy (FSM-CE) Working Group is organising this webinar, where we will hear from practical experiences on the linkages between solid waste segregation, collection, treatment, plastic recycling and faecal sludge management based on case studies in Udaipur and the Nilgiris (India).
