From Policy to Practice: Overcoming Barriers in Legacy Waste Management for Small Towns 21 Nov 3pm IST

As the SBM 2.0 deadline approaches, India aims to remediate all dumpsites. While 41% of legacy waste has been remediated, progress has mainly been in larger cities. Small and medium-sized towns, which hold nearly half of the country’s waste, face challenges like failed tenders, delays, and waste diversion issues. Addressing these obstacles is crucial to meeting SBM's objectives and achieving nationwide remediation.
