Introducing Global Communities: A new partner organisation of SuSanA

We would like to welcome Global Communities from the United States as a new SuSanA partner organisation!

The following text is taken from their application form and which was written by the partner organisation themselves.

Description:
Global Communities (formerly CHF International) is an international non-profit organization that works closely with communities worldwide to bring about sustainable changes that improve the lives and livelihoods of the vulnerable. We envision a world where everyone has the freedom, means and ability to live and prosper with dignity. Our mission is to create long-lasting, positive and community-led change that improves the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable people across the globe. We make a difference by engaging with communities, governments, the private sector and NGOs as partners for good - bringing together complementary strengths and shared responsibilities to work toward common goals.

Activities in Sustainable Sanitation:
Global Communities takes a comprehensive approach to water, sanitation and hygiene by integrating infrastructure development, community mobilization and behavior-change communication to improve sanitation and hygiene practices. We work closely with local governments, communities and the private sectcor to address the full life-cycle costs and risks associated with water and sanitation investments and water quality monitoring. Strong local partnerships ensure the long-term sustainability of solutions that are equitable, environmentally friendly and well-suited to the specific needs of each community.

Expectations in the Partnership:
We expect to be able to learn from other partners, to share our experience and expertise with others and to explore opportunities to better collaborate and expand the number of people served with improved sanitation.

Contribution to SuSanA:
Our staff are interested in participating and contributing to SuSanA working groups as well as sharing case studies of our efforts. We may be able to co-sponsor conferences and will share links to our training materials.
