ISC covered a wide range of discussion but the organisers must be thanked for bringing the faith leaders in one platform. Great effort!

Re: India Sanitation Conclave, 27-28 April, New Delhi

Hi Elisabeth,

Conclave as per my understanding of the event is used inter-changeably with conference here. It is an open event with two days of discussions on sanitation.

Re: India Sanitation Conclave, 27-28 April, New Delhi

Hi Nitya,
Just a small question, what is a "conclave" in this context? Is it an Indian English term for conference? Just wondering.
(Wikipedia definition of conclave doesn't match: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conclave_(disambiguation) )

Elisabeth

Re: India Sanitation Conclave, 27-28 April, New Delhi

Dear Mr. Jacob,

I have gone through the Agenda Outline. It, no doubt, gives excellent program. I hope childhood stunting, a major problem in India and Pakistan, is also included in the program.

Will it be possible for you to share the papers and presentations, after the event is over, through this forum, for the interested people?

Regards,

Re: India Sanitation Conclave, 27-28 April, New Delhi

Dear all,

The India Sanitation Conclave is rapidly approaching. This will be a platform for deliberating on the various themes around corporate engagement in sanitation across India, from policy and regulatory enablers to best practices emulation and the business opportunity through the B-U-M-T value chain. It further envisages the scope of partnerships in the rural context along with battling the FSM challenge in the urban setups. Outreach through faith based organizations and the scope of skill development in sanitation are other areas to be deliberated in the sessions.
Session Themes & Objectives:
The India Sanitation Conclave will be a topical brainstorming platform with knowledge and networking as additional takeaways to facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement to achieve a sustainable sanitation ecosystem:
  1. Highlighting role of companies in sanitation with government policies & regulation in this sector
  2. Presenting best practices from corporate sanitation initiatives across various themes (schools, skills, products & technology, etc.) by means of a compendium of best practices in order to as a tool to encourage sharing of knowledge among companies for achieving sustainable sanitation
  3. Exploring potential of sanitation as a business opportunity for products, services & technologies across the sanitation value chain (Build-Use-Maintain-Treat)
  4. Sanitation: State of play and impending gaps in Rural and Urban India
  5. Behaviour Change & Role of Faith in Sanitation
  6. Skill Development & Sanitation
