Dear F.H. Mughal
At the moment there is no information available in English, but I hope the results of the evaluations will be published also in English. I will be checking it and share their news as they become available.

Re: call to participation in water quality testing in Germany, Nov. 2015

Dear Elizabeth,
The project is not directly related to sanitation but water quality, ecology and microbial functioning.
However, I find it interesting the participatory approach, which offers the opportunity to everyone to take part in a nation-wide evaluation of water quality, and that at the same time raises public interest on the subject. They have already about 700 volunteers and received numerous requests to participate. I think that this approach may be interesting also for other environmental research and sanitation projects, for example, for soil sampling, surveys, etc.

Best regards
Gabriela

Re: call to participation in water quality testing in Germany, Nov. 2015

Dear Gabriela,
Thanks for your post. In which sense is this related to sanitation? Yes, water quality is of course related, but if they are only looking at night lighting in cities and the function of phototrophic microorganisms to fix carbon, then what is the relationship? Unless there is e.g. a hypothesis that clean rivers are more affected by night lighting than polluted rivers, for example?
Could you please clarify?

Regards,
Elisabeeth
