Research Fellow in Network Analysis for Off-Grid Sanitation at Cranfield University

This role will support the ESRC-GCRF funded Scaling-up Off-grid Sanitation project, which is will study Container Based Sanitation (CBS) systems in Haiti, Peru, South Africa and Kenya. This role will focus specifically the analytical framework on systems network analysis which seeks to understand how CBS links with other urban services, including water, food and solid waste, and the interactions between them.

You will have a PhD (obtained or near completion) in systems thinking or related discipline. You will be fluent in GIS software, and experience of working in interdisciplinary teams and/or the DELPHI method would be beneficial.   You need knowledge of at least one of following service sectors in a low or middle income country:  water, energy, transport or solid waste.  We are open to applicants with no prior experience in on-site/off-grid sanitation systems like pit latrines and septic tanks but are willing to learn. Similarly, experience of research with a container-based sanitation enterprise would be beneficial but not necessary.   Your previous research experience should be evidenced by a peer-reviewed publication track record.
