Merci encore!

Thank you for your interest in the project "A clean balloon for the population" Dear Chaiwe.Indeed, it is partly a question of "social responsibility of the cooperatives" which unfortunately do not take action at all because they do not measure the extent of the event on the life of the riverside, in particular its health impact. I have met no less than two managers of newly built stadiums who say that they only manage aspects related to the playgrounds and the revenue to be collected.
The sponsors to date are not really known. Similarly, we do not know of any project that officially plans to address the health welfare of people living in the vicinity of stadiums, despite theof people living near stadiums, despite the approaching deadline.

Therefore, SOLDIS is seeking to mobilise people living around the stadiums on issues related to hygiene and the importance of having addition, SOLDIS has not yet been able to mobilise the population around the stadiums on issues related to hygiene and the importance of having quality sanitation facilities adapted to the context (through adapted training modules). Moreover, SOLDIS only has ideas but lacks financial support for the moment. "So the ball is in the centre for all potential investors for this cause.

Thanks again for your support!

Re: African Football Cup in Cameroon (January 2022): What ideas to set up around households close to football stadiums located in peripheral areas that do not have enough hygiene and sanitation infrastructures?

Dear Abdou,

The "Clean ball for population Project sounds like a great initiative. It is common within many developing countries in Africa to find stadiums andsoccer pulls in so many large sponsors, even for stadium upgrades, and yet still find that the sanitation and hygiene needs of dwellers and residents around the stadiums do not receive the much-needed attention.

This intervention in my opinion sounds like it could work well from a funding point of view as a ‘‘cooperates social responsibility'' issue. Having said that my question then is, have you considered approaching the stadium managers, officials, and various sponsors that support these Soccer events and whether they have considered looking at the Sanitation welfare of the people living close to the Stadiums?

Also, could you share what type of technical support you are looking for, for the success of this initiative?

Kind Regards,
Chaiwe

Chaiwe

Indeed, we are a young legal association under Cameroonian law called SOLDIS (Solidarity for Development and Public Health Initiatives).
The draws were recently made this week and SOLDIS would like to prepare this round ball festival differently by a healthy environment for the populations living around the stadium through its "Clean ball for population" project. As a result, we are very happy to request your technical support (depending on your experiences of major competitions in other areas of the world) and financial, why not, for a smooth running of this competition.
