Re: WASH & Nutrition Online Library

Dear Mr. Dan,

There is an ongoing international research by UNICEF, which suggests that, due to the intake of unsafe water, the child's guts are badly impacted, as a result, the nutrients are not absorbed and, this causes the malnutrition among children.

More information can be found at website mal-ed.fnih.org/

Re: WASH & Nutrition Online Library

Hi

Came across this article "Ending Open Defecation, Not by Evidence Alone" (blogs.worldbank.org/water/ending-open-de...nce-alone#comment-82)
Which included a large piece on "The evidence: Sanitation, stunting, and child health" which was interesting. A further link I discovered in this article was to a Policy Research Working Paper by Dan Spears entitled "How much international variation in child height can sanitation explain?" published in February 2013 by The World Bank
Sustainable Development Network, Water and Sanitation Program, which is definitely relevant to this working group, not sure if you were all aware of it already. Here is the link to where your can download the pdf: econ.worldbank.org/external/default/main...58349_20130205082533

Hope this is useful.

Hello Dan ,

Thank you for sharing this with us. I will be in charge of working on the library for the WG 12, and I'll be glad to have your help on this.
I'll have a look at the material uploaded on the Wordpress library and get back to you as soon as I can.

Kind regards,
Mercedes Bah.

We started a WASH/Nutrition library on Wordpress that may be useful and the link is:
washnutrition.wordpress.com/.

I would be glad to work on a library with the SuSanA WASH Nutrition Working Group if it would be useful.
