Dear Susana Team, dear Elisabeth

The team is equally happy ! Finally ;)
And we will try our best to contribute.

We also have our newsletter coming out this week, with many many updates from our activities last year and a sneak preview into 2014. It will be a "sporty" year with the upcoming Cricket World Cup In Bangladesh and the Football World Cup, and also Menstrual Hygiene Day.

You can subscribe to it here

Introducing WASH United: A new partner organisation of SuSanA

We would like to welcome WASH United from Germany as a new SuSanA partner organisation!

The following text is taken directly from their application form and was written by the partner organisation themselves.

Description:
WASH United is an award-winning Berlin-based international social impact organization that uses the power of sports superstars, interactive games and positive communication to promote safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for all. WASH United designs and executes innovative campaigns and WASH in Schools interventions in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, and works on the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation.

Activities in Sustainable Sanitation:
WASH United is not implememting hardware, but focusses on the software part: campaigning, advocacy and trainings for students, teachers, adults around sanitation, hand-washing with soap and menstrual hygiene management. Through our activities and programmes we contribute that people are motivated to use their toilets and keep them clean, and consider hand-washing not as a dull practice.

Expectations in the Partnership:
WASH United wishes to establish partnerships with Susana members, that are interested to work with our materials for awareness creation and school trainings, so it complements their hardware expertise. SuSanA is also a good forum (online and offline) for exchange and learning in the sector. Lastly, SuSanA can have to power to advance sanitation agenda and bring S&H into other sectors, such as energy, food, groundwater, etc. and we hope for a good cooperation in this regard.

Contribution to SuSanA:
WASH United is already engaged in SuSanA working group 7 (community, schools). We are ready to lead MHM activities under SuSanA. Furthermore, we can contribute to WInS learning and campaigning, and of course share our experiences in this regard.
