Re: Case studies for regulated / scheduled cleaning of septic tanks

Dear Aasim,

This is a very interesting management model that I've also been exploring. I know that IUWASH, a USAID-financed project in Indonesia has been experimenting wth this: iuwash.or.id/US/news/layanan-penyedotan-...u-bersihkan-belawan/
iuwash.or.id/US/news/uptd-pal-bagian-int...itasi-berkelanjutan/

I also heard that Vitens evides International was doing somthing similar in Nakuru County, Kenya but can't find any links on that.

Hope this helps. Keep us up to date on your progress I'm very interested on how this proceeds.

Best,
Giacomo

Re: Case studies for regulated / scheduled cleaning of septic tanks

Thanks Florian..

We also found that these scheduled emptying aspect is also carried out in Philippines.

Are there any other countries and cities where this has been done.

Many thanks

Aasim

Re: Case studies for regulated / scheduled cleaning of septic tanks

Hi,
I think Malaysia could be a good example. The BMGF Landscape Analyis includes some information: www.susana.org/en/resources/library/details/1670 but there may be better reports/studies focussing on the scheduled emptying aspect.
Regards, Florian

Case studies for regulated / scheduled cleaning of septic tanks

Hi All,

We have recently started working on Fecal sludge management plan for few of the cities in India, where we are trying to explore regulated / scheduled cleaning of septic tanks.

It would be great if you could share some case studies of cities / countries where septic tanks are being cleaned on a regulated / scheduled basis.

Many Thanks

Regards,
Aasim
