TOPIC: Liquid permeable membrane

Dear all,

Does anybody know of a product that will stop organic material from falling into a trough, but allow liquid to pass through? It would be a liquid permeable membrane or similar.

Only the low budget solution: nylons.
Also because this could work with gravity alone (whereas most others membranes probably require some sort of low pressure?).

Hi David,

not sure, but perhaps this is what you are looking for:

In German this is called "Rottesack" and is used as pretreatment in small wastewater treatment plants. Solids are retained in the nylon bags where they undergo a more less aerobic rotting process. Liquids drain through the bag and go to the planted filters or other treatment types.
