Re: Congratulations to Elisabeth von Muench

Thanks Arno and Mughal for your kind words and also thanks to those who clicked on "I like this post" under Arno's post - this surprise post made my day!!

I am very fortunate to be working with colleagues such as yourselves, and all the other active forum participants and that I was able to turn my hobby into a paid activity (via the grant by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to SEI which has funded my forum community manager role since end of 2012). Very lucky indeed!

And Mughal, you are not far off: fast approaching your 1000th post! :)

Regards,
Elisabeth

P.S. As much as I would like to take credit for the view rates that Arno mentioned: they are not directly related to my post but are a cumulative figure for the entire thread which has been going since a year and a half.

Re: Congratulations to Elisabeth von Muench

Dear Doreen,

You are also doing a great job! I would congratulate you as well:)

Elisabeth: Have you done some stats on your posts - say high number of posts related to a month; or related to some event (webinar); or sanitation urgency requiring more responses, etc. I love to see that - perhaps, your weekend homework!!:) ;)

Re: Congratulations to Elisabeth von Muench

Dear Mughal,

I agree that Doreen should be thanked for her forum posts, and so should you!! I wish we had more people like you, from a Muslim country, Pakistan, retired and kindly devoting time to curate, share, ask questions, give advice, start discussions, voice opinions etc. - Thank you! We don't have enough people like you on the forum, yet.

About your proposed "homework" on my forum posts, I wasn't so keen on doing that - too much work! But I can see the impact of my posts in two ways:
- when my post helps to rekindle a conversation that has perhaps been dormant or not even yet started - by bringing a topic back to the top or by asking people by e-mail if they'd like to react, then I am happy.
- there are also the number of likes for my posts (see to the left of this post). We could look at the ratio of likes compared to total number of posts and have a quantifiable "impact". B) I have currently 617 likes and 2072 posts which equals 30%. Your ratio is very similar: 26%.

Regards,
Elisabeth

Re: Congratulations to Elisabeth von Muench

Dear Elisabeth,

Thank you for your motivating post, and for your kind words. I'm sure, your post will encourage others to interact more frequently.

Sometime back, you circulated a post, asking users not to feel shy or hesitant in sending a post, even if there are errors here and there. You, as well as senior users, are not there to criticize such posts, but on the contrary, encourage such users by interesting replies.
Please circulate that post again.

Regards,
F H Mughal
