Nice graph on SuSanA member increase over time

Dear all,

Here you can see how the number of SuSanA members has been increasing over time (thanks, Enno, for putting these figures together). The start of the discussion forum on 8 July 2011 has given the member number an additional boost as is clearly visible from this graph:

The member registration began on 26 June 2008, round about the same time when I joined GIZ and the SuSanA secretariat. I still remember Steffen Blume working hard with Steffen Eisser on the website and the registration system at that time....
Wow, we have come a long way since then. Where will we be in one years time?

Regards,
Elisabeth

Re: 5000 member milestone achieved for SuSanA on 17 June 2015

This weekend or at the latest on Monday, a big milestone will be reached: We will welcome SuSanA member (= forum user) number 3000 !!

You can view the forum member growth data here on our statistics page:
forum.susana.org/forum/statistics

Wondering if the secretariat has a nice surprise planned to mark this important milestone and perhaps celebrate user number 3000!? ;-)

As a German saying goes: you have to celebrate the party when it happens ("Man muss die Feste feiern, wie sie fallen").

Have a nice weekend,
Elisabeth

Re: 3,000 milestone achieved!

Public Hygiene Lets Us Stay Human, of PHLUSH, is a grassroots group of comprising citizen scientists, ecosan advocates and urban public toilet activists. This forum gives our members much needed access to experts who are helping us make the case for plumbing code change, urban hygiene and a more realistic policies for disaster sanitation preparation and response.

The Forum is the perfect human link between the enormous data base in the SuSanA library and kind practitioners who help us answer questions and identify resources. In the coming year we hope to use the forum to rally over 150 sanitation research and practice groups in the United States so we can more effectively reach the American public on both global and national issues. Here's our World Toilet Day invitation. us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=0ad23eb67ae...fac36b&id=32d627738e

SuSanA rocks! Special thanks to the folks in the Secretariat and to Elisabeth; you've been instrumental in making connections. If you visit the Pacific Northwest, we want to meet you.

Re: SuSanA member number 3000 is just around the corner!!

I am very happy as SUSAN member since I jointed in 2008 as global forum because it reflects joint global communication about water and sanitation .Water scarcity and drought become more sever in the Asia and the Africa so water sanitation is the first priority for water resources protection ,public health and recycling and reusing safe waste water.
I benefit of practical and research base discussion and innovation which implementable in developing countries.

Thanks to all for sharing the latest experiences.

Re: 3,500 milestone achieved!

We are very excited to announce that the 3,500 member milestone has been achieved!!

When we reached 3,000 members, we posed a couple questions, and we would still be interested to hear more:
- why you joined SuSanA?
- how have you benefited from SuSanA?

Thank you to all members who have joined and contributed over the past years, and we look forward to welcoming new members, and the continuing involvement of SuSanA members!

Re: 5000 member milestone achieved for SuSanA on 17 June 2015

Yes! We have 5000 members! We will celebrate this, and look ahead, in our open microphone SuSanA webinar this afternoon (register here: www.susana.org/en/webinar-registration ).

We are happy that the 5000th member who joined yesterday will also be in attendance at the webinar, so we can introduce this person live! Are you curious who it is? Then tune in to the webinar at 16:00 CEST (Geneva time). :-)

And if you read this and you are a new member yourself, feel free to use this thread to introduce yourself and tell us why you joined SuSanA.

A warm welcome to all new members!

Regards,
Elisabeth and Lasse

Re: 5000 member milestone achieved for SuSanA on 17 June 2015

I can now reveal who the 5000th member is. We were very lucky to meet her online at our SuSanA open microphone webinar today where she introduced herself. How fitting that it is someone from India where we have so much activity and interest around sanitation in India these days, also here on the forum.

Her name is Samyuktha Varma. Samyuktha is based in Bangalore, currently an independent consultant with some very interesting plans (and past activities in sanitation with IWMI in Sri Lanka for example). We will let her introduce her plans and reasons for joining SuSanA in her own words in this thread.

Here is a warm welcome to our 5000th member, Samyuktha from India:

And of course a warm welcome also to all the other new members who have been joining these weeks, making this 5000 milestone a possibility. We all look forward to reading your posts on this forum and to interacting with you - perhaps in a future SuSanA webinar as well!

Kind regards,
Elisabeth

Dear members,

there is now a mp3-audio file of the presentation of Samyuktha, our 5000th member, during the open microphone webinar last week available here .

And here is also the corresponding short video clip (3 minutes):
